EHL & Co.

Hackberry Lane

Partnering with Hackberry Lane, a student housing platform with properties across top-tier universities, EHL & Co developed a scalable brand identity that balances professionalism and trust with a sense of approachability. Designed to resonate across investors, parents, and students, the system brings consistency to a growing national portfolio without feeling stiff or dated like many competitors. Alongside the parent brand, the visual identities for Haven and Old Row were created to feel distinct in their positioning, yet cohesive within the broader ecosystem, allowing each to serve a specific audience while reinforcing a unified brand presence.

The design language draws from the authority of established real estate firms alongside the refined sensibility of modern, youth-driven brands. The Hackberry Lane symbol features a street sign embedded within the negative space of a rectangle, a reference to the brand’s origin on Hackberry Lane at the University of Alabama, while subtly forming an H that ties back to the brand name. Haven expresses a more elevated, serene approach to living through a calming purple palette and a clean, modern doorway symbol. Old Row leans into a legacy-driven, collegiate aesthetic, defined by a rust red tone, a more textured typographic style, and a classic Southern character that evokes heritage and tradition.
